About Kevin Helling

Dr. Kevin Helling is a Casper native, surgeon, small business owner, and community leader who has spent his career serving Wyoming families.

After completing his surgical training at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Stanford University Medical Center and Harvard Medical School, Dr. Helling made the decision to return home to Wyoming to raise his family—not just to practice medicine, but to invest in the community that raised him. He is the founder of Precision Surgical in Casper.

Throughout his career, Dr. Helling has taken on leadership roles focused on improving access to care in rural communities. He has served as the peer elected Chief of Medical Staff at Wyoming Medical Center, sits on the Wyoming Board of Medicine, and represents Wyoming nationally as Governor-at-Large for the American College of Surgeons. His work has consistently centered on keeping high-quality care local and strengthening the communities he serves.

Dr. Helling believes deeply in the principles that have always defined Wyoming—faith, personal responsibility, and the freedom to live and work without unnecessary government interference. He sees these not as abstract ideals, but as values that guide everyday decisions for families and small businesses across our state.

As a husband and father raising young children, and as a business owner responsible for employees and patients, Dr. Helling is living the realities that many Wyoming families face right now. He understands the pressures of making payroll, navigating rising costs, and building a future for the next generation—because he is doing it himself.

That perspective shapes how he views public service. Dr. Helling is part of a generation that will live with the consequences of today’s decisions for decades to come. The policies debated in Cheyenne are not theoretical to him—they will directly impact the families, businesses, and his community for years ahead. He believes Wyoming needs leaders who are not only guided by experience, but who are fully invested in the future those decisions will create.
